There’s a blog for announcements and news, and pick-and-choose pages for other types of communication. For example, the blog list page shows who’s updated their blog since you last checked in. Other pages include a forum page and a page to keep track of everyone’s birthday.

Protected blogs are for people that want to have a blog in a TetherBlog blog list, but don’t want to share their posts with everyone on the web. Protected blogs can be easily added to blog lists on TetherBlogs, but can only be accessed by members of associated TetherBlogs.
